My proudest achievement has been stepping into a chaotic project, bringing it under control, and then helping build a new team in Romania. I handled everything from interviews to the final handover of operational duties. Currently, I'm focusing on network security—specifically switch hardening and firewall rule reviews. Though firewalls remain my least favorite network device, I'm steadily mastering them and it has become an area where I'm continuously developing new skills. My work schedule is pleasantly balanced. I visit the Hoofddorp or Almere office two to three times per week, and with few meetings to interrupt my workflow, I can focus on meeting project deadlines. What makes my work meaningful is knowing that I'm keeping the lease car industry online, helping people get where they need to go. Looking back, emigrating from South Africa to the Netherlands with my family was our most challenging move, but it went remarkably well.
